Personally I use the orginal Lilypad Xinput wrapper which works flawlessly for my DS3 (full bluetooth, rumble and pressure sensitive buttons support) but since development for that has stopped you might want to check out the continuation for that. I only recently found out about the release of v2.0 and I'm very happy to see that it finally supports 3rd party input plugins (which was the only reason why I didn't use ePSXe up to this point).Īs for what plugin/method to use for your DS3/4, I wish people would stop recommending and/or using this MotionJoy closed-source adware crap. yes stop, because honestly anything worthwhile in this world does requires some. If your not willing to put in effort then. That does not mean it is pointless/crap or even that original hardware is better in all ways. So yes using an emulator is not a frustration free thing all the time, and it dose take a little work to get it going (even more to set up the looks to personal taste). Not to mention the phone/tablets are easier to use anyware you want to use them, something the original hardware can not do. All of these are far easier to bring through airport security then 3 or 4 consoles (I used to do this and it was a pain). Portability - on either a laptop or now a days phones/tablets/little computers you can plugin at a hotel to the hdmi port on the tv. and before you say that won't happen there are already no New TVs being made that work with the guncon or other light guns.ĥ. Not quite an issue yet, but in the future there may simply be no TVs that anything with an analog connection works on. If you are a good electrician, I will grant the consoles are a little easier to fix rather then having to replace assuming you can find the right parts.Ĥ. Reduce ware and tear on rare physical disks that it is getting harder and harder to replace. Cheat codes are far far easier in an emulator then with even the gameshark pro (the physical unit that attached to the parallel port) since emulators can turn on and off individual codes with out the need for joker commands.ģ. Savestates are a lot more convenient then the save point spacing in a lot of PS1 era RPGs, and older fans of the consoles might not have the luxury of time to make it from one to the other without life calling them away.Ģ. There are multiple reasons someone might prefer an emulator over the original hardware.ġ. ** I am pretty sure people could easily post config files that other users could download to try instead of forcing thousands of users to fumble in the dark with trial and error methods, sadly this doesn't happen.ĭoes that mean original hardware does not work since "wireless" (RF) PS1 pads notoriously had major issues and no rumble features? Press again = goes green turns on and then remaps your buttons randomly and has completely inaccurate sensitivty This new blu tooth server option, but that's crap becuase you can only have 1 device per USB Blutooth after messing around and visiting dodgy sites and installing crappy tools and probably malware, i finally gave up and just used an xbox 360 controller. Ill be honest, it just seems like ePSXe is terrible at handling gamepads, additional plugins may help but the documentation is so poor i wouldn't know where to direct you. Ironic considering it should be a core part of the emulator.Īn xbox 360 pad works great but that doesn't mean that the sensitivity and the buttons work with ePSXeĪ USB converter is the most recommended option i can find uninstall mojotionjoy crap after you finished and probably run an AVĪ PS3 pad with ePSX is actually terrible from what i test and read. You can now setup the PAD by using create new profile > auto select XBOX config > then test and make changes to suit. Basically MoJoy appears to inject a device ID for the PS3 controller most notably a USB pad or XBOX 360 driver and hardware/ device ID Now you can run better DS3 which will recognise the PS3 pad you can safely install all if more than 1 device is listed, you can always uninstall anything later if required. choose this and click install for the device you plugged it. In motionjoy (you may have to load it twice to get the nasty green advert window) theres an option like driver manager at the top Install motionjoy and run the DS3 tool// not better DS3, the DS3 that comes with MoJoy Windows will recognise and install as Playstation(R)3 all the dlls burutter.dll and the cyberpad dll's \epsxe 2\"burutter.dll" & \epsxe 2\plugins\cyberpad.dll etc etc etc. This is based on a PS3 sixaxis controller (i don't think they rumble), you might be out of luck with a 'Knock-off' model like your snakebite
